I was so excited when I realized that my Duncan Miller glass swan dish would look incredible mounded with my collection of silver, aqua and green Shiny Brite Christmas ornaments. She looked enchanted and became the centerpiece for my dining table this year.

Cue the Swan: Driving M-22
Cue the swan! Whenever we have guests at our cottage and we are enjoying a beautiful day, I call out "Cue the swan!" as if adding that little touch (real swan) would make their experience in northern Michigan perfect.
Well we were rolling north along M-22 fromTraverse City when I noticed this beautiful view...complete with swan! Enjoy

Swan and Water Lily
I drove over to a public dock to see if I could get close enough to photograph some water lilies in bloom. I think I was just a few days too early; I expect that these yellow blooms will open and spread out after a bit more time in the sun. The scene was beautiful, though, and I loved the watery reflection of the reeds on the surface.
I was about to leave when I noticed...
A mother and father swan taking their 5 kids out for a swim after dinner! It was so sweet, I only wish they were closer. I was really pushing my "zoom" and the quality suffered, but at least you can see them, happy and relaxing in their natural habitat.
