Crowning Glory

You heard it here first...the motif this Spring is crowns. They are gracing items all across the design world right now.

You will see them on totes, pillows, as iron-on designs, and even on paper placemats. You wouldn't want a crown on everything, but choosing this regal icon for just one item in your home would be darling.

Where's my crown? I have a wire one on my living room table. It was hand-wrought by an artist I know and the jewel on top is a tiny brown nest holding 2 faux robin's eggs. I just love it.

Oh, this crown? It is on the gated entrance to an estate in Dijon, France.

Well Anne, "this crown" is really quite lovely. I note the initials C and L in the centre. No doubt there is some long history behind that.

Your table crown sounds lovely too. Somehow I don't think I'll be buying any pillows with crowns on them, or placemats for that matter. I might leave that to the design-conscious. Unfortunately, my higgledy-piggledy collection of things don't really match but there is so much of it that I don't think it matters much any more in my house. I'm just dying for some storage space to put most of it away, out of reach of dust!
