Vernal equinox

When my dear friend Heidi lived in Japan, she would fly home twice a year with her daybag stuffed with things she knew that I would love.
One such gift was this set of gumdrop-like candy. Of course I can't read the packaging, but it looks to me as if is meant to celebrate the beginning of Spring, or vernal equinox. Snowflakes transitioning into Spring flowers and birds chirping.
Spring is here!

Lucky, lucky you Anne, for the candy and Spring! The Japanese do make the most delicate and pretty things and they know how to package things beautifully too.
