Delight 2012 Calendar
By popular demand, I have made a "Moments of Delight" calendar for 2012. You can order it from Zazzle: 2012 Moments of Delight calendar and have it in time for holiday gift giving. At $21, I hope it is the perfect price point for meaningful gift giving to teachers, friends and neighbors. Please note that there is a discount for ordering multiple copies.
These are some of the images in the calendar. I've chosen these to put the spotlight on the delight in everyday life.
I will feature my Paris calendar tomorrow. You can find info in the blog sidebar, as well.

Sounds Wonderful
As you look at the 2011 calendar, make sure that you plan some things that sounds wonderful.
This is a photograph I took on a perfect day in northern Michigan. My aunt was in charge of planning an outing for a groups of ladies and I was invited to join them "for lunch at a lavender farm." Seriously, what could sound better?
Now is the time to get out your calendar, call up some friends and start planning some fun. Been talking about a weekend reunion with college friends? Always wanted to travel to Round Top Spring Antiques Fair?
I'm all for spontaneity, but things this good have to be planned.

Calendar Girl
It's the first Monday of the year and I am getting organized. Today is the day that I look at my calendar with a "bird's eye view."I make notes in the margin of each month of the things I would like to attend. For example, I have never been to Chicago's Christkindlmarket (an outdoor holiday market filled with handcrafted German ornaments, food and holiday cheer) that is open from Thanksgiving to Christmas. If I note it on the calendar now, I am much more likely to plan for it in my schedule.
Another big deal is the Blue Angels! Every other year they fly in the air show at the National Cherry Festival over the 4th of July. This the year and I have to make sure that I am there!
After the big events are noted, I fill in birthdays (candle stickers) and anniversaries (wedding cakes) by month. This moment of quiet planning makes my year go more smoothly. I love my Blackberry, but I really am a calendar girl.

Retro-stick
I have been loading my calendar with stickers for years. I always get the double-page Monthly At-A-Glance calendar - that way I have plenty of room for fun. I put "birthday candle" stickers to denote some one's birthday, "teacup" stickers when I am meeting someone for coffee and travel stickers when I have a big trip planned. My close friends know this and often kid me when we make plans, "Do you have a sticker for that?"When Angie came to take me to the airport for our trip to Maine, she arrived with some darling stickers by Jolee's of seagulls, lighthouses and suitcases. The first thing out of her mouth? "Please tell me that you retro-stick!" and I knew exactly what she meant.
The minute I got home, I went back and decorated the third week of September. Thanks, Angie!
