I bought this bunch of zinnias for $7 at the Ballard Farmers Market. The blossom heads are small so the overall scale is perfect for this vase from Pottery Barn that is essentially a dull gold wire circle holding test tubes.
One type of flower in many shades in a circle. Simple but stunning.

Sugar Management: Fill Test Tubes with Sprinkles
I love sugar and color...and being organized. This simple project ticks all the boxes and makes me very happy every time I see it in my kitchen. I see no reason the grocery store sprinkles have to reside in those ugly plastic tubs.
Show them off in your kitchen and you'll find more occasions to add a little something-something to your baked apples, yogurt or brownies. I know I do!
I mention it today because as Halloween approaches, these perfectly-sized glass test tubes with cork stoppers from Martha Stewart Crafts are available at Michaels, often on sale.

Cookie Sprinkles in Test Tubes
I am halfway to a really good idea. I have put my prettiest cookie decorations in test tubes! I knew that it would look really neat - along the lines of spices that are sold in test tubes, but prettier. The only problem is I need a rack or some sort of container to stand them up on. I want to have them out on my kitchen counter as "art".
I bought two sets of the Martha Stewart Test Tube favor kit with cookie sprinkles in mind (I think it was designed to be a Halloween party favor full of candy), and naturally I couldn't wait to fill them with a lovely array of sprinkles. But I need a rack!
For now they are leaning inside a large bowl and the effect is just not the same! Anyone have any ideas?
