I love sugar and color...and being organized. This simple project ticks all the boxes and makes me very happy every time I see it in my kitchen. I see no reason the grocery store sprinkles have to reside in those ugly plastic tubs.
Show them off in your kitchen and you'll find more occasions to add a little something-something to your baked apples, yogurt or brownies. I know I do!
I mention it today because as Halloween approaches, these perfectly-sized glass test tubes with cork stoppers from Martha Stewart Crafts are available at Michaels, often on sale.

Sprinkle and Sugar Management
My blog is about finding delight in everyday life. Celebrating the beauty of everyday moments. Embracing what you love, collecting what you want.
I love a lot of things, but I tend to tell people that my life is driven by color and sugar. No image will make that clearer than the one above. My new genius invention...what I call "Sugar Management."
Do you love it!?! It is every sprinkle I own, contained in individual clear boxes with lids. I know, it makes my heart pound too.
You see, I have a lot of decorations and I use them liberally on cupcakes, cookies and the like. I go on "field trips" with my friend Alison and we buy what we need for the upcoming holiday. It is so fun, so reasonable and is the best collection ever.
Collection? Yep, this counts. Something that I have this much of and something that brings me this much delight surely counts as a collection. To me, this is art.
The road block for me was that the containers that they came in were of varying sizes and not at all appealing. When I pull out my cookie decorations it should be as pretty as the sugar itself. Do you know what I mean? The marginal packaging was standing in the way between me and the cute. So I found a way to fix it.
Want to have your own system of sugar management? I bought a collection of clear Amac boxes (this variety with a deep lid) and (this variety with a narrow lid) at the Container Store and I feel like a Sweet Genius.

12 Days of Valentine's Day: Day 10
Make this Valentine's Day super-cute with homemade cupcake toppers!Simply place a toothpick between 2 adhesive foam hearts and stick them back-to-back. Voila! They are ready to be placed as you wish.
Cupcake toppers are all the rage in baking, but they can be expensive and hard-to-find. This method couldn't be easier and can take your box mix muffins from basic to beautiful!
Day 10: Make your own cupcake or muffin toppers from inexpensive foam stickers.

Sugar Secrets
Pssst...You don't have to get your cookie decorations at the grocery store or even at a giant craft superstore. Live a little and plan a field trip to a local cake decorating supply store (Google : cake decorating store your city).
You will flip when you see the selection! I tagged along with a friend today and had so much fun. What did I buy?
Red sugar, white snowflake sprinkles, tiny pastel circle sprinkles, white jimmies, a Santa mold, almond paste (for my next Stollen) and a button-shaped lollipop mold. Seriously, you will love it.
Would you rather shop online? Check out Fancy Flours...and as you are clicking and happily baking in your mind, remember who sent you.
