A Letter to Jack Frost
Dear Jack,
I hope this letter finds you well. I know that you are in town because my lawn was opaque yesterday morning when I woke up.
I realize that it is October 2nd already. I have seen the Christmas decorations in the stores and I have even made an apple pie. I love Fall, I really do.
But, Jack, my roses. Do you think you could hold off the freeze warnings for another 10 days or so? My garden is loaded with buds and I really can't bear to lose them.
I've enclosed a picture of my latest bouquet to show you why it is so important - honey dijon roses, magenta zinnias, pale yellow snapdragons and Lillian Austin roses.
I have many "ladies-in-waiting" almost ready to bloom and I really want to photograph them. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Anne Reeves

OMG! That is fabulous -- an "open letter" to Jack Frost!
...
I wonder if he'll listen. I know *I'm* sold!
Anne! This letter is priceless! I wrote one to Brad Pitt once, explaining how disappointed I was that he never even gave me a chance. I thought for years he was just in denial that I was out here..(I did not mail it LOL)
I am so excited that Fall is here. This is perfect weather not too hot not too cool. I pray that Jack will honor your request!!
Have a great weekend!!
Love Lilly

Thanks everybody! I was chuckling to myself as I wrote it. Only I would write to Jack Frost with a plea for my roses...
Aha, that Jack is a naughty fellow. Your flowers are superb, Anne. When does it begin to snow?
Hi Mme, thank you! Well, we might get flurries in October, but the real snow will happen sometime in late November. But the chill is here. We need jackets during the daytime for sure. Brrrr. And I have resumed my habit of afternoon tea...
I'm with you! I need more time!
