A Restorative Cup of Tea

I love having a cup of tea in the afternoon. I've read many Rosemunde Pilcher novels (The Shell Seekers is my favorite) so I always think of having a "restorative cup of tea." I don't know anyone who wouldn't appreciate being restored at 3 o'clock.

The moment of delight you see above is from a lovely hotel in town. The mother of the "Garden Club Girls" and I went to lunch with the girls after a field trip to see a giant gingerbread house. We used cloth napkins, drank from tea cups and were very grown-up in this fancy dining room.

We thought that the tiny jar of Bonne Maman Honey was darling and all had fun dipping our spoons in. Believe me, I was restored.

I love tea with honey and lemon and it is indeed refreshing.
"High Tea" is a tradition of course that we grew up with but I confess rarely indulge in these days unless we are visiting our 99 year old Auntie. She did give me most of her beautiful porcelain cups & saucers when she moved into the nursing home though. You would adore some of them. Perhaps it's time I gave them an airing!

Yes, get them out and enjoy! I like to make a short tower of 3 cups/saucers stacked on each other in a cabinet. But perhaps your cats...
