10,000 Feet

I do some of my best thinking at 10,000 feet. While some fasten their seat belt and hunker down with a magazine, I always start any flight with a brand new notebook.

It is somehow easier for me to brainstorm designs, plot lines and color palates when I literally have a "bird's eye view" of the world.

Where do you like to think?

Great post Anne! So true! I always bring my journal on plane trips (maybe because it's one of the few times am forced to sit still and uni-task!) Many entries begin with "On my way to..." and include some reflection on where life has been and where it is going to go. It's like being lifted above your life so you can look down on it with a fresh eye. Literally. I find the experience to be rather moving every time.

Well, I am in the Panama City Beach area, so I love to go to the beach late afternoon or early morning and let my thoughts clarify. Water has this strange calming effect on me, perhaps it is the fact that God made the Ocean as big as it is, and He also took the time to make me.
I also go to the Marina and watch the water. Late afternoon the sun hits the waves and it looks like millions of diamonds glittering. It is breath taking!! I seem to put things into perspective when I am at either place..

Oh I love the beach. Lilly - Have you seen this post of mine from last winter? http://anadesigns.blogspot.com/2008/02/virtual-yoga.html

It reminds me of the relaxing times you describe at the beach.
